Photoessay #1428 - Anniversary Dinner

Dennis and I went out to dinner for our anniversary. A great thing about getting married on June 20 is that the weather is often beautiful here. Every year. For several years, we have gone to an upscale restaurant right on the water in Edmonds, about six miles away. They have an early bird special with a restricted menu (but plenty of good stuff). It's gone up but it's still under $20. Let's go!

So we had a lovely dinner early in the evening. First shot is the view from our table. A little reflection but you can see the the soft summer light of the Pacific NW. (I just wrote a piece on this) On the water, with sunshine, flowers and boats.

Second shot shows the appetizer course, a small shrimp cocktail, tasty. As I have restricted what we've eaten here in the last 4 months, Dennis said "You forget how good some of these things taste". "Like bread and butter?" I asked. He nodded.

After dinner, we strolled around in front of the reataurant along the Sound. Very kid friendly. Beautiful flower boxes.

On the way back, I showed Dennis a condominium I looked at that overlooks the sewage plant. Very close by. Sounds worse than it is. It actually had a nice view. I've been saying that, if we moved, I would like a condominium in Edmonds. He was intrigued, don't know how it would all fit in. Can you have a second home six miles from your regular place? I remember that day, it was the lowest priced and the simplest. It had a huge plus, a window in the kitchen. There's still a realtor sign in front of the place. I've called my friend Jan.

I snapped the picture as we strolled along. He's not a dour presence but he's not smiling in the shot. He's a great husband and father. I've chosen well!
