Photoessay #1084 - Event Day Staff

I had Dennis take a picture of me with my event day staff outfit before the football game. OK, not the greatest but it will do. I am happy to announce that subsequently I did obtain an official purple UW hat. In the picture (cropped out) I'm clutching a neon green hat used for a 'green' promotion. During the first timeout in the third quarter, we walk our section holding a big garbage bag encouraging people in our section to pass plastic bottles to us to go in the bag. The idea is that is a 'green recycling initiative'. Don't take any garbage (my mistake the first time). Supposedly this makes a difference and they got bags and bags of plastic bottles for recycling.

Took until the third game until I scored the hat. Previously I asked everybody EVERYBODY I knew to see if somebody had an extra UW hat I could have. But nobody did! And it wouldn't have worked out anyway. Before each game, we are each issued a yellow raincoat which they collect after each game which we have to give back. I can see that because somebody else might need to wear that coat before you are back.

Also, during that game I scored a better name tag but I didn't get a purple lanyard. In fact the paper one pictured (which I was kind of sharing with the other Sandy in my group) disintegrated in the rain at the Arizona State game.

Dennis still thinks I'm out of my mind for doing this. This weekend he goes to Pullman for Dad's Weekend at Washington State for Naomi. I have the Oregon State game. I've arranged for dog babysitting with Mike across the street.

So so busy with my writing projects. Plus I helped Linda P with a seminar this morning in Wallingford. Fun! We had 5 people attend. Didn't sell any but we have two good prospects and some good networking.
