Photoessay #1073 - Salmon Days

So today was the quarterly meeting for the chapter reps for Parent Group. There had been some grumbling about using the Shoreline Library as the location. Me and my buds, we LIKED that spot because it was close. So Ruth decided to have it somewhere on the east side. So she picked Issaquah. Which didn't make much sense because most the eastside members live more north.

But ok, we'll meet at the Issaquah library. I catch a ride with Teresa and Henry H and Margaret. A ridegroup of 4.

We get to Issaquah a little later and...uh oh. It's Salmon Days. Biggggg festival. Roads blocked off. Tons of people in the street. Booths, place is packed. No parking. And, of course, the library is in the VERY center of the Salmon Days celebration. No wonder Ruth could reserve the room. Everybody else in Issaquah is doing Salmon Days.

It all worked out. Teresa and Henry let Margaret and I off and found a place to park (had to pay $5). We eventually found the place. The meeting room is right on the corner of the building with big windows onto the main intersection, filled with Salmon Days revelry.

So funny, because we had no reason really to be in Issaquah and certainly not in the middle of Salmon Days.

First shot shows Margaret as we attempt to dive into the crowd looking for the library. Second shot, some of the eastside reps in front of the window showing the crowd.

Margaret and I did share a delicious strawberry blueberry shortcake, hey, the booth was right outside the library.

Pretty funny.
