My mom's making progress towards her goal. My siblings and I were pretty shocked at the difference in her condition today. Wednesday morning she was able to speak clearly about her decision. Wednesday afternoon she could talk but not always complete her thoughts. This morning, she was not able to speak much but could communicate more with facial expressions. When I was here by myself this afternoon, I told her that she had taken care of everything. She replied "You have taken care of everything?" I said "Don't worry, everything is taken care of. She repeated her comment that I was looking after things.
When we came back after our errand to the funeral home ninety minutes later, she was unresponsive, we could not wake her. She had had a little ativan on the advice of the hospice nurse. Since that time, we have not really been able to completely wake her up. Her vitals have been falling. She may pass tonight.
But she had been looking forward to watching the olympics so we're watching at her bedside.
