Farewell to Rockford

I'm going home after being here in Rockford for 12 days. I may not ever come back. I had thought in the past, that, at some point, I would not have to travel to Rockford, Illinois ever again. Just fine, what a crazy place to go to all the time.

I have many thank yous to make which I will wait until some time when I get back.

I know you may find this unlikely dear readers, but I'm a bit sorry to leave. I have met many fine people here. Of course, in the midwest tradition, many people have been wonderful to us around the events of my mom's passing. At some times, that even though the population number is posted at 150,000 souls, I felt there were only 20 people in Rockford and I knew 12 of them.

Just the places I frequented. Wesley Willows, Rockford Memorial Hospital, Swedish American Hopsital, Temple Beth El. As in all other communities, you start to get to know the people who hang out at these places too!

We have split up most all of the things and there's a big pile of stuff in the basement that will be shipped to me. Woe is me when I receive all that stuff. Mostly heirlooms, kitchen stuff for Naomi, photo albums, some furniture, framed photos, things Susanna, Ilana and Naomi picked out (Danny took his home). And goodness knows what else!

Dang, I thought that I could file my unemployment claim today but I see the deadline was 5pm yesterday.
