Photoessay #947 - A winter's lunch

Seattles soft light can make lovely imagery in the darker hues of the Puget Sound winter. Some reflections off of the ship canal outside the Aqua Verde cafe on the edge of the University of Washington campus. The still water of the marina reflected the gray skies and added some its own highlights.

The Aqua Verde cafe has its own special place, though I never knew about it until about six months ago. Linda and I had some great summer lunches there until we got the rude wakeup call of a $30 parking ticket. We had lunch there with Matt's mom and stepdad. Kind of get acquainted, a fun time for all. You can see the group at the bottom of the post. Never pass up the chance to take a group photo, I always say.

Then, later Emily came up from Tacoma and we fiddled around with letterbox materials in preparation of making one to honor her mother who passed away. We also looked for a few easy recent boxes at Ronald Bog in the gathering dusk. Who knew there is a little conifer arboretum there. And then on to the always popular Dumpling House.

My mom IS dong better. I think I'm going back this week. Now if my job would actually END....
