Mary Ann and I have our annual checkuip. Every year, we get together on New Years Eve. Mary Ann brings her calendar. Every year we check what we wrote down last year about our kids, ourselves and other family members. We note what's happening now. Some years Mary Ann loses the calendar, some years we have some other year. This year, Mary Ann couldn't find last year's but we had 2006! Some things stay the same, some are different. Even 4 years ago, a lot of things were the same in regards to our now adult children (we each have 4). We note older husbands, we note the huge toll that drug use takes over time. A marriage and a new grandchild, coping with traditional muslim traditions.
One good thing over the past two years, together we have lost 50 pounds. More of that! (or less).
We've known each other 28 years, we can't remember how long we have been doing this....at least ten years, who can remember?
