Yesterday, I also had my monthly lunch with my friend Linda. We returned to Aqua Verde, a modest Mexican food place that's right on the Ship Canal on the edges of the university. I think there's a related kayak business downstairs. Many science buildings nearby and a small park next door. We sat on the deck as we did last time. Two pictures I took from my seat at lunch.
Note: the Ship Canal in the midst of Seattle is a man made channel running between Lake Washington and Lake Union and then through the locks in Ballard into Puget Sound.
We've had an extended heat wave here. It's still really warm for Seattle, I fear for some of my plants which are NOT looking well at all. But summer activities in full swing. Unfortunately, I'm not doing them but I AM watching. A kayak class going on in the Ship Canal with the I-5 bridge in the background. The moorage next to the restaurant with some people enjoying themselves on some pretty nice boats. Some excursion boat in the Canal. Hwy 520 on the other side of the Canal leading to one of the floating bridges across lake Washington.
Seattle can be sparkling beautiful in the sunshine...
Ilana has attained a part time job at her employer of choice (Sno-Isle libraries), she starts on Monday.
