Photoessay #631 - Be the Rock, Lori!

One of the most powerful parts of the Changes program is the Support Team. You pick 4 or so people from the group to be on your team. You meet with the team outside of the weekly meeting in a neutral place. The discussion centers on YOUR situation. Serving on a team is an honor and a long term commitment. You will really make progress working with your team though it can be occasionally uncomfortable and demanding. You learn a ton being on other people's team.

This team met this evening. Difficult situation with a young adult daughter going through an involuntary financial (that means STEEP) metadone taper. She doesn't have money; the clinic will no longer provide the drugs. They put you on an extreme taper, 10% per day. Mom has been enabling the daughter for years with destructive results. Day 4 of the taper. Team meets to help mom decide on her strategy.

Always some humor and clowning around. The first picture is the team being stern. This should go on your refrigerator to let you know what you need to do. But, then again, maybe the bottom picture would serve you better. To know that you have support and people to call in.

Be the Rock, Lori!!!!
