This afternoon, the #1 ranked University of Washington Huskies had their home opener. I was done working, the weather was good, why not? Naomi would be home to watch Teddy. A little chilly but pretty sunlight.
So I go to Husky Stadium that I always enjoy and watch the Huskies dispatch the newly D1 Seattle University team without much trouble at all.
Alas, the Oregon Ducks are not doing well, now 6-10 which will not get you to regionals. Just lost a 9th inning heartbreaker to Missouri.
Heather Tarr, the UW softball coach, changed her coaching coach this year. Gina C is one of the new assistant coaches. A talent who played for University of Pacific under Coach Tarr, served as student assistant at UW last year. This year she is one of the professional full time Assistant Coaches. Pretty nice place to start a coaching career, as an asst to a Pac 10 team.
And the student assistant coach at Oregon, yup, our very own Susanna. They had played with and against each other in high school and travel ball. They're buds.
