Photoessay #449 - My father again
So I return to my father, who I cannot speak with any more. Yet in the last years of his life, I wasn't speaking much to him anyway. Comings and goings. Here is a photo of Al, probably in high school. He continued that same hair style all through his life. He always was a beanpole, he certainly filled out later in his life but was never heavy. During his years of sickness 2001-7, he was often underweight. He did not allow me to talk with his doctors, but on one trip to Rockford, I did talk to their long term internist. He told me, the most life threatening condition that your father has is malnutrition. I don't remember his lips being so thick but mine are a bit.
He's got a good looking wool jacket on; his father would have approved.
