Photoessay #446 - Brownie Fun Day Runthrough
Picture stolen from Ilana. The Campus Girl Scouts of the University of Washington hold their biggest event this weekend. Brownie Fun Day at Camp River Ranch. Brownies get to come to camp with their leaders for a day of crafts and fun put on by the college girls. Ilana's president of Campus Girl Scouts and, if you are Ilana's friend, then you are helping out there this weekend. Event always sells out $10/headd, bring your own lunch. Ilana held an event earlier this week where the members practiced the crafts they would do on Saturday. Naomi's working, Janine will be there. As well as our van.
Kind of related to Ilana's senior project which was running Mom'n me. Then the heuristic ran as follows: IF you were related to the event director (Ilana), THEN you were in the kitchen trying to get out the spaghetti dinner for 125. That would be us.
They also run an event later in the spring aimed at cadettes and seniors. Murder Mystery Tour. That fills up within the day. Ilana writes a mystery story and they act it out on campus. The plot and event varies according to what kind of rooms the current members can get unauthorized access to. (One year, the observatory, next year, the oceanography lab). ILana always includes an event where the scouts are pondering their next step in a quad and the pay phone rings with the next clue. The idea is to showcase the University of Washington to the scouts.
The Campus Girl Scouts make enough money from Brownie Fun Day to fund Murder Mystery Tour and take a nice trip at the end of the year. Last year, they went to Victoria.
Naomi's an honorary member....
