Photoessay #477 - WSU

Many things can happen between now and then but I'm hoping that these pictures, taken in the summer of 2007 (and not the right ones either!) may hold some medium term future. Of course, this is Naomi's experience not mine. She finally completed her application for Washington State University. Not sure she'll get in, hoping. A good fit for her, different than her sisters. We went to visit summer before last, through the rolling wheat fields, really liked the light. And Pullman, the town. And the programs. The University of Washington (where Ilana will graduate from) is in Seattle which is the biggest city in the region. Pullman is a small town way on the eastern part of the state. In the Palouse, the name given to the region, miles and miles of wheat fields and dramatic land forms. I have this picture of wheat grown in an ornamental row in front of an ag building, something about the real wheat plants used in a directed way in a flower bed makes it landscape art. I know! I know! I get it! And a picture of the rolling hills taken from the car. I may have used this picture before but who would know (except maybe Matt who recently read ALL of my entries, my hat off to you!)?

So let's all put our heads together and hope Naomi gets in. In the unbelievable but true category...there was no place on the Washington State University to put your extracurricular activities. You know, senior captain of the dance team, played rec soccer for four years. I didn't believe it at first but no spot for it!
