Photoessay #470 - Thanksgiving 1 negotiation

Before every Thanksgiving dinner, my husband and I and one of my daughters have protracted negotiations morning of. How will we fit in xxx people? My husband's opening position is "There is now way that we can fit xxx people"

Negotiations commence. We usually host two Thanksgiving dinners. Last weekend's dinner was for 13. However that's just the warmup for Thursday's group of 19.

Last weekend's action:

a. maybe we should start with these portable tables, one ours, one borrowed from Margaret. Mmmmm....we're just not wild about the t formation

b. Bring on the plywood, will it fit into the dining room. You have to put it flush against the wall, how many people can we fit? Not enough.

c. Let's get wild and consider a diagonal design. How's the seating at the end. Mom, dad and Ilana try it out. It's crummy.

d. This years final configuration for Thanksgiving 1, back to the portable tables in an "L' formation.

Be warned that I think we are going to have to go two rooms for Thanksgiving 2. Last year, we set up two tables in the living room but I don't think that will work for this year.

Remember, if you are coming to my Thanksgiving, it's BYOC, that last initial is 'chair'.
