Ilana plays quidditch at the University of Washington. Not an NCAA sport but a recognized club sport, all the same. What, you say that quidditch is an imaginary game and you can't really play it? Nonsense, check out this link:

A group of students play quidditch on a regular basis (is it cool or nerdy? the jury is out). You must always be riding the broom (alas, you are not flying). Round hoops. All of the positions are used, blodgers are round rubber balls. It's kind of like soccer and rugby.
The snitch? Rather than just being a golden ball, it's a person dressed in golden colors with a small ball velcroed onto a belt on his back. He can run anywhere on campus. The seeker must find him. Ilana says it's pretty funny to run around campus with a broom between your legs asking people, did you see a guy wearing gold run through here?
They have pennies to wear representing Gryffindor (red) and Slytherin (green). UW was invited to participate in a National Tournament in Connecticut and they sent a team. Ilana couldn't go with them because, also alas, she didn't have an extra $400 to fund the trip. All of her extra money went to visit Solvenia last summer. She reports that the UW team went 1-2 and that some of those East Coast Quidditch teams and very good and play very aggressively.
Ilana's roommate, Matt, is wearing the black goggles on his head in the video. Because of this, all of the quidditch stuff, brooms, rings, etc now lives in Ilana's apartment. Dennis groans, shortly in our garage, right? Where everything else seems to congregate.
Ilana is not in the video, it was made in the summer while she was in Italy. She has enjoyed this quite a bit, they plan to have a spring tournament.

Did anyone else see a quidditch game going on around campus today?
I was walking past Denny at around 2 and saw a girl in red run by with a broomstick between her legs. Then I got to the quad and saw a guy in yellow being tackled by someone in green. Guess slytherin caught the snitch.
Then I took my finance final =(
