Photoessay #324 - Backyard campfire

Harbinger of summer, perhaps? Saturday, it was an unseasonably warm day, I bet it hit 70, very nice to be outside. I even attempted a bit of weeding (paid for it later and still). I took a special trip to photograph the plank bridge in Twin Ponds Park and check out Bruggers Bog park which though right by my house, I've never been to. In the evening, my neighbor invited me over to share a backyard campfire with her. She had purchased one of these bowl little fireplaces. She had it on tiles on her deck though her husband was sure she would burn the whole place down. But it REALLY felt like summer being outside having an open fire. She had the makings for s'mores though we never got around to them. Next time!

I love those little fireplaces, they are perfect for 4th of July parties in the neighborhood. I think one year we didn't have one so we set up some bricks on the side of the street and had one anyway. My neighbor is faintly in the background in this photo with a nice fire with maybe a little spark action.

I enjoyed myself quite a bit!

New letterbox on atlastquest.com called "Stumped". It's the first one with a hand-carved stamp. Naomi and I made it this weekend.
