Sometimes, in all my constant reshuffling of the many items that we own I (ie junk) something just shows up. Like this picture, where did it come from, where should it go? Organizing items spatially is particularly difficult for me (how could you guess?) but I'm putting a lot of work into images and pictures (ditto).
Four year old Ilana as a ballerina, she took ballet for a short time (around 1990). Holiday recital, Ilana's in her costume getting ready to perform, demonstrating in our living room. I think we finally retired that bookcase though we still have all those books (What ARE you supposed to do with old encyclopedia sets?). Alas, we still have the carpet.
Ilana loved participating in the ballet class. More accurately, she loved being a ballerina. She enthusiastically participated, she loved putting on the tutu and being in the room with all of the mirrors. She BECAME the ballerina. However, for her, being the ballerina in the class had no connection with what the teacher was presenting or what the class was doing. At all. Always, in her own world. Her very own ballerina in the midst of all the instruction. Being 'with the program' not one of her strong points. Always very engrossed with her dancing, irregardless what the rest of the class was doing. Made for an interesting recital.
