A few weeks ago, Dennis felt that his very debilitated mom should have a cat on her lap before she died. She always loved her kitties. George was originally her cat though, back when she could speak, she always insisted that he was a female because he was 'so pretty'. Dennis purchased a cat harness and attempted to put it on the large muscular George.
As he put it regarding his first attempt to put the harness on George..."Round 1 goes to the cat".
But he persevered and managed to wrestle the cat into the harness. George can actually be intimidated fairly easily...sort of... and he wriggled but didn't loose any of the big guns as Dennis put on the harness as a practice run.
It is embarrassing to have the dog see you though....
Dennis did take George to the nursing home the following weekend and George did sit on his mother's lap. Dennis' mom did pass soon after.

that is not a happy cat.
That was a nice thing to do for Dennis' mom.
A wonderful effort even though the cat was insulted! George will get over it and hopefully it stirred something in her!
