Photoessay #201 - A dancing wedding
A year ago May, Dennis performed the duties of 'second best man' at his friend Pat's wedding to Marjorie. Both Pat and Marjorie love to dance and clearly, dancing had a huge role in their courtship (actually they had known each other for many years) and their wedding. Not a high cost affair, they put their money into the band and the hall. The refreshments featured cheese and crackers, vegetable trays, some sheet cakes, a punch bowl and champagne.
And lots of dancing. I do like to dance but don't get much chance at all. I did sneak in one waltz with Fred, who had the role of 'first best man'. The ceremony involved all the guests being in a circle and the wedding procession (led by Dennis) went around the guests and then into the circle. Anyway it all worked.
The guests, most of them dancers, swirling around the floor. And a shot of the wedding party (including the bride's father) afterwards. The bride and groom in the back on the right.
As part of the wedding party, I figured we would loom large on the cleanup end. But this group people had participated in many parties of this type. When the ending time came, the band kept playing and the guests started cleaning up. Everybody quietly pitched in and, before I knew it, the place was completely cleaned up. I hardly did a thing!

It sounds like a really fun event. especially the reward of not having to clean up a lot at the end.
