We have not reached the day's end but it's very possible that the one day rainfall total record may be broken in the Seattle area. Water has poured out of the sky flooding many streets. Dennis came home early from work as most of the parking lots have been flooded and streets blocked around his workplace. After he departed, he heard that they would let you out of the parking lot but not in. The Governor has declared a state of emergency, many local reports of flooding.
Wind may be next, I thought we were home free, the wind advisory was supposed to be over at 4pm, now they say 7pm. If the wind does come, there will be way more trees that will go over because the ground is soooo saturated. I worry that we will lose power, nobody around here has gotten over last year's wind storm when we were without power for 6 days. NOT FUN! I would NOT recommend it. This year, I have a gas stove!
Here's a picture of our backyard this morning. The water made it's way part of the way towards our back slider but not quite. Now, the water has receded quite a bit, some puddles in the middle. Hope the worst of this is over!

Thanks for coming by! Yes, two of my children (now 22 and 25) were born in Korea. I'm looking at your photography page and going to take a closer look at your interesting images.
You use light and dark a lot. I am not a strong photographer, mainly interested in the photo to advance the story.
Welcome one and all! More audience to read and respond!
A couple of years ago we had a strom like that. The water drain in the yard behind me could not keep up and the water started creeping up my yard toward my house. This is the time you hear in the back of your head that stupid TV commecial about flood insurance! Lucky (one and only time) that the back of my yard is much lower than the house.
STROKE, STROKE, STROKE!
oh you guys are making me smile. you met Jim Baker, how fun!!! I do have a gas stove and when our power went out last year we had to sleep by the fireplace. We've added a wood stove since then which really warms up the house nicely. I guess if your power goes out you won't be able to tell us unless you have a really big battery in your computer.
We did lose our power today for about three hours. Everybody around here remembers when we lost power for nearly six days last year. Do not do that at home! Oreo is my sister, she is probably thrilled to have company making comments.
