Photoessay #151 - Aquarium with Melina

This past weekend, Naomi, Dennis and I took our granddaughter Melina (almost 7) to the aquarium. We've gone to the animal farm forever but Melina wanted to do something else. Actually, we all like the animal farm, there was always somebody new, baby pigs, a new speckled horse, etc.

But, why not, let's go to the aquarium. Having Naomi along is gold, she's so talented in working with children. She soon has Melina relaxed and engaged. Melina enjoyed the aquarium from start to finish. We went through pretty quickly but she was eager to see every thing. Fish, seaweed, anemones, otters, seals, she liked all of it. Plus, my coupons worked so it wasn't so horribly expensive ($30 rather than $55).

She liked the touch tanks, the odd looking spiny fish and the diver suspended in the big tank just as you walked in. We saw the seals being fed. Afterwards, we walked along the waterfront to one of Dennis' favorite haunts (and we hadn't been there in years) Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe. Took me forever to drag them all out of there.

Melina said that she had never been on a ferry so there's our next excursion. I have Saphooey's permission to include Danny next time. He has mixed feelings but I think he'll come.

Having Naomi along is the KEY!
