Photoessay #112 - The Wenatchee River

Better feature a scenic after yesterday's graphic illustration. On our eastern Washington trip, we traveled over Hwy 2 for its dramatic beauty. The road crosses the summit of the Cascades and winds down from the dark green woods of the mountains towards the coulees and the arid wheat country along the Wenatchee River.

We stopped at a gourmet place outside Leavenworth run by relatives of one of Ilana's friends to purchase a big bag of saltwater taffy for the rest of the trip. The outside deck overlooks the Wenatchee river. Gray wet day but always dramatic.
