Photoessay #48 - Seashore view

A beautiful day in White Rock this past Saturday. The tide was the lowest I had ever seen, demonstrates how shallow the bay is around White Rock. That might be Point Roberts in the far background, the spit of land which juts over the US-Canadian border.

The white granite rocks and marine plants line the promenade that runs along the beach at White Rock. There really is a big 'white rock' at White Rock and I even have pictures. For my second picture, however, I will feature a picture of Dennis and myself with a view of the beach and the promenade to set the scene.

As usual, we had a great visit to the beach and shops at White Rock, strolling along the beach and the pier. Admiring the boats, the water and the sky. One of the best kept secrets of the northwest, just the other side of the US-Canadian border. Lots of Canadians come to enjoy the sunshine, the beach and the water but not too many Americans. Most people here in Seattle have never heard of White Rock. We haven't had much trouble crossing the border this past weekend, we've waited maybe 20 minutes each time. On Saturday, there was a huge backup on the Canadian side waiting to come into the US, estimated wait 3 hours 45 minutes. It's a big holiday weekend up in Canada. Right now, looks like a 45 minute wait. I may go up on Saturday to watch the games.

I stooped down low to get a good shots of the plants and the flowers hoping to get the seashore in the background. And it worked, everything in focus too. One of the best shots I've taken.

oh to walk along the beach and enjoy the sea air . . . . all I got is soy beans and corn!

Would have been cool to walk out on the sand at such low tide. Might have found some pretty nice shells.

Good photo!

They came out pretty good. I think I might post a picture of the Japan Denso team bowing tomorrow...and maybe the Australian team waving. I also have some decent pictures of Cat pitching. Can't do too many softball ones. The similar pictures with the marine plants in the foreground also worked. Good pictures of you too! You can kind of see the eagle in the tree
